There is no need to wear a mask or pretend to be someone else, let go, being around yourself in your truest self, you will feel like a weight is lifted, a light is on.
If you really are hard on yourself and need to get help, do it, otherwise take stock, focus on your good points, laugh at your silly self and moment by moment, practice letting go.
You have more in you.
You can do whatever you want in life if you learn how to work through the self imposed people pleasing, self hating, fear based thinking habits.
They are just that habits.
Chuck them out.
Replace with new ones.
Change so that you like you.
Rinse and repeat.
It may take a while, it may feel like crap to let go at first but it gets easier.
Next time you find yourself trying to prove something to someone, stop, walk away and take your focus on to something you love.
